NEWS

Denise Newman (MFAW Faculty) received a National Endowment for the Arts 2013 Literature Translation Fellowship to support the translation from Danish of a collection of short stories, Baboon, by Danish author Naja Marie Aidt. The book will be published by Two Lines Press in 2014. Congratulations, Denise!!

Ishmael Reed (MFAW Visiting Faculty) has the lead article in the July/August 2013 Playboy on stands now.

Dodie Bellamy (MFAW Faculty) worked with the Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) and CCA's MA in Curatorial Practice program on their Lost Treasures project. This piece can be found on both the CURP blog and BAVC site.

Marissa Bell Toffoli (MFAW '06) has two new interviews on her Words With Writers blog with Bruce Littlefield and Elise Foerster.

KQED Pop bloggers continue the critique; Emmanuel Hapsis (MFAW '09) on what it means to be liked while Laura Schadler (MFAW '07) likes The Bachelorette.

Publishers Weekly posted an article about the $250K translation grants the NEA is awarding which includes mention of Denise Newman (MFAW Faculty) as a recipient.

There's a News item up on CCA's website about Latasha N. Nevada Diggs (MFAW '08) and her first book of poetry Twerk released by Belladonna Press.
