Congratulations to Anne Lesley Selcer (MFAW '13)! Her chapbook, A Book of Poems on Beauty, won the Gazing Grain Press Poetry Chapbook Contest for 2014, judged by Dawn Lundy Martin.


PUBLICATION

Steffi Drewes (MFAW '07), Tom Comitta (MFAW '11), Anne Lesley Selcer (MFAW '13) all have poems in It's night in San Francisco but it's Sunny in Oakland, an anthology of 60 contemporary East Bay poets.

Patrick Newson (MFAW '15) reviewed Driftwood Forts of the Oregon Coast by James Herman for Oregon Book Report.

Hugh Behm-Steinberg (MFAW faculty) has some recent poem publications:
"Juniper Titmice" in the recent issue of Denver Quarterly (Vol. 48, No. 4), "Sooty Fox Sparrows" in Sink Review, two in Sakura Review (Vol. 5), and "Not Lost" in Coconut (No. 19).

Keiran King (MFAW '16) has a weekly opinion column on The Jamaica Gleaner: recent articles include how the buggery law is an offence to all, the "Gay Agenda" is a cheap tactic, and how to think for yourself. Find more here.

Michelle Johnson, editor from World Lit Today, held an interview with Denise Newman (MFAW faculty) regarding her forthcoming translations of Naja Maria Aidt.

Eleven Eleven participated in the Beast Crawl this month in Oakland and recorded their readers, Sarah Korbinsky, Oki Sogumi, and July Westhale.

In partial partnership with the IMPACT Program, Natalie Catasús (MFAW '14 / MA '15) along with an interdisciplinary team of CCA grad students, launched a Kickstarter to complete the funding of their project, Cohere: Mapping Voices Across the Silence, an effort to bring an oral history workshop to the families and friends of Canada's missing and murdered Indigenous women.
